The foundation also works to build awareness of the importance of journalism in the protection of our democracies around the world and to strengthen ACOS (A Culture of Safety) Alliance, an international coalition of media, and freelancers promoting the safety and equity of conflict journalists and photographers.

The Knight Foundation is a non profit foundation which supports transformational ideas that promote quality journalism, advance media innovation, engage communities and foster the arts.

The Newseum was an interactive museum of news and journalism based in Washington D.C. It was a founding partner of "Remembering Fallen Journalists" and remained a partner organization till it's closure at the end of 2019.
